Dr.
William Bruce Young grew up in Jasper, Alabama where
he was active in the Boy Scouts and was a member of
the swimming team and the tennis team. He graduated
from Walker County High School.
Dr. Young completed his undergraduate
studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and
his postgraduate studies at the University of Alabama,
earning a D.M.D. degree. After graduating from dental
school, Dr. Young completed a one-year general practice
residency. He is a member of the American Dental Association,
the Alabama Dental Association, the Academy of General
Dentistry, and the Delta Sigma Delta dental fraternity.
Dr. Young has taken numerous courses in
all phases of dentistry including pediatric, cosmetic,
endodontic (root canal therapy), periodontal (gum treatment),
dental implants, infection control and sterilization,
and sedation dentistry. He received his Mastership
in the Academy of General Dentistry. The Academy
of General Dentistry is an international organization
of 35,000 general dentists. Earning the Mastership Award
means completing more than 1100 hours of continuing
education courses and passing a rigorous fellowship
examination. The Academy is not a requirement, but a
commitment to continuing dental education and to giving
patients the best possible care.
Dr. Young is a member of the Hiram 42
Masonic Lodge and the Exchange Club of Jacksonville.
Dr. Young's wife, Dr.
Sue Nimer, is a pediatric (children's) dentist.
She now practices with Dr. Young in Jacksonville, AL
and she is on staff at Children's Hospital in Birmingham,
AL. They and their children attend Canteberry United
Methodist Church.
Dr. Young's hobbies include motorcycles,
drumming, and aerobics.
Dr.
Elizabeth O. Jackson spent most of her childhood growing up in Indiana, but moved to Demopolis, Alabama while in high school. After quickly falling in love with the southern charm, Dr. Jackson decided to stay in Alabama and continued on to attend Auburn University. She graduated from Auburn in 2003 with a degree in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in Spanish. Dr. Jackson then went to the University of Alabama at Birmingham to earn a D.M.D in 2007. While in dental school, Dr. Jackson had the opprotunity to participate in an exchange program with Japanese students from Asahi University in Japan to learn of some of the differences in dentistry from another country. She also participated in the Christian Medical Ministry's mission to Honduras where she got to practice some of the Spanish she learned at Auburn.
Dr. Jackson has stayed very involved with organized dentistry with memberships that include the Birmingham District Dental Society, the Alabama Dental Association, the American Dental Association, American Association of Women Dentists, as well as being a board member of the Alabama Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Jackson is a member of St. Francis Xavier where she has taught Sunday school for 3 years and has also been a member of Bible Study Fellowship.
Dr. Jackson has been married to her husband, John, for 3 years and they are expecting thier first child in early December.

Patricia is our financial administrator;
she demonstrates a high level of administrative
competence and is an important contributor to the
success of the practice. She began her career as
a dental assistant more than twenty years ago and
gradually progressed to the front office, and there
found her domain. Trish uses her extensive experience
and knowledge to maximize your insurance benefits
and shares her knowledge for the benefit of coworkers.
She displays a high degree of honesty, loyalty,
and integrity. Trish attends seminars and workshops
to improve job performance. She enjoys music, movies,
shopping, computer games, and spending time with
friends and family. |

Katie is Dr. Young's daughter;
her journey with our office began as a dental assistant
in 2002. She is now a full time student at Jacksonville
State University, and works part time as Dr. Young's
marketing administrator. She is currently working
to update the office website, but she would be glad
to schedule an appointment for you or answer any
questions you might have about your visit. |

Dotti has been a dental assistant
for 16 years. She has worked for Dr. Young's office
since 2007. She loves working with children and
has two of her own, Nick and Wade. She recently
purchased a home in Pleasant Valley where her children
attend school and are active in baseball and football.
She looks forward to attending the dental hygiene
program in the future. |

Pam Wood began as a dental assistant in 1975 and continued her career by graduating from UAB School of Dentistry's Dental Hygiene Program in 2010. She joined Dr. Young in 2004. She has two daughters and three beautiful grandchildren. |

Pam Goss has worked as a dental
hygienist for Young Family Dentistry for eight years.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene
in 1990 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham's
School of Dentistry. She and her husband live in
Piedmont with their two children. Her children attend
Spring Garden School; Her daughter, Lauryn, is a
junior, and her son, Caelan, is in the eighth grade.

Tracy has worked as a dental
hygienist for Young Family Dentistry since April
2008. She started assisting in 1997 and received
her hygiene license in 2007. She lives in Oxford
with her husband and three children, where they
attend the First Baptist Church. She enjoys running
and spending time with her family. |

Jackie started in the dental field in
1988 working for a dentist in Northern VA and
remained there for 20 years. She started as a
dental assistant and expanded into scheduling,
billing and insurance. She moved to Alabama about
a year ago to be closer to her family. Jackie
is currently working with our patients on their
dental treatment options & scheduling with
the doctors. She will go over your treatment plan
options and explain your insurance benefits to
you. Outside work, Jackie is very actively involved
with her church and assists teaching a Bible class
with her friend's online ministry. She is an artist,
who uses her talents to serve in church. She enjoys
painting realistic portraits and anime-style artwork
in acrylics.

Carrie came to Young Family Dentistry in March 2011. She began as a dental assistant in 1997 and has continued to work in the field since. Carrie's upbeat personality and repoire with patients make her a natural. She is married and has 2 children Olivia and Ethan. |

Sandy joined Drs. Young and Jackson in November 2010 as a part of our front office team handling insurance consultations, treatment planning and does Marketing and Public Relations for our practice as well. She is a graduate of Jacksonville State University is married and has two boys Austin and Grayson. |

Dia joined the practice in February 2011 and brings 15 years of dental office management experience with her. Orginally from West Virginia, she has lived in many places throughout the United States while her husband served our country in the United States Marine Corps. Dia is a part of our front office staff and her vast insurance and accounting knowledge has made her invaluble part of our practice. |

Gina is orginally from Georgia and began her assisting career in 1992. Gina has worked in pediatric dentistry as well as adult dentistry for many years. She joined the practice in March 2010. She has three children Haley, Will and Ethan. |
